OK, I'll go riding instead

I haven't driven the Alfa for 2 weeks or more... will it start? Yes, I have charged the battery... maybe I should ride the bike instead.. less carbon emitted into the atmosphere that way. Or maybe I should just walk somewhere closer. Decisions, decisions. It's just I'm feeling a bit cooped up. The good news is that bike racing is about to recommence here on the Central Coast (Lucca Rd, North Wyong, from December 1 - at 6pm). Yes, the crits are on! The bad news is that (a) I haven't raced since May and (b) I haven't actually ridden for 4 weeks. Hmmm.

Blogging away

I was asked the other day why blogs were interesting to me... so I had a think and this is what I thought:

• Done well, it's more personal - it's a window into someone's thinking and their life
  
• It can also be a portal to new ideas, interesting info, instruction or a collection of some sort
• Blogs present a more balanced view than the general media - you see more people writing about more subjects in more styles (admittedly both good and bad)
• Blogs present life in more depth - this can be really passionate stuff about important causes or just an insight into a personal daily dilemma, but it's now revealed, rather than hidden.. it's an open door

So why do I blog?

• I want to share a lot of info that I have collected
• I want to revisit my past - as I delve into my interests and collections of images and documents I unearth something about me that I had forgotten, or had submerged
• I want to clarify my thoughts - and writing helps me do that
  
• I want to know more, and my blogs give me a reason to research a topic I may have otherwise neglected.

You may have different thoughts... but that's it from me, for now.
